Jane M. Kercher, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr. Kercher is a native from Wyoming where she recieved her B.A. degree with Honors from the University of Wyoming. She then recieved her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. Prior to relocating to Denver, she practiced general surgery in Omaha, Nebraska for ten years, both as a private practitioner and Associate Professor in a teaching capacity with the University of Nebraska Medical School. Dr. Kercher is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, and the Southwest Surgical Congress. She is an active member of the South Denver hospitals and has served at Littleton Hospital as the Surgery Department Chairman and as the President of the medical staff. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the hospital and a member of several other committees. She enjoys all general surgery diseases and procedures including cancer surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, hernia surgery, and laparoscopic surgery. Her special practice interest is in breast diseases and breast cancer.
Dr. Kercher is the co-author of Straight Talk About Breast Cancer: From Diagnosis to Recovery, and she continues to make frequent presentations about breast cancer at related professional seminars and community events.
Dr. Kercher has one son, Matthew. They enjoy traveling, bike riding, tennis, and any outdoor activities. They have also participated in several medical and church mission trips to many countries. Dr. Kercher is involved in many community, school and church activities and was a previous board member for eight years for Lutheran Family Services and currently serves as Chairman of the Stephen Olsen Memorial Fund Board. Family and friends are always a high priority in her life.
