Susan A. Sgambati., M.D.
Dr. Sgambati is a native of northern New Jersey. She attained her undergraduate degree from Brown University and is a graduate of New York Medical College, where she was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society. She completed her general surgery training at the University of Connecticut. During residency, she performed three years of cell biology research at Yale University. Dr. Sgambati completed fellowship training in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnosota.
Dr. Sgambati began practice at Rose Medical Center in 1999. She is the Chair of the Department of Surgery at Rose Medical Center and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado. She has been named one of Denver's "Top Doctors" by 5280 Magazine every year since 2001. Dr. Sgambati treats all diseases of the colon and rectum, including colon and rectum cancer, diverticultis, constipation, ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease. She treats all aspects of anal disease including hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas and anal cancer. She has a special interest in the treatment of pelvic floor disorders and fecal incontinence.
Dr. Sgambati is married and the mother of two children. She enjoys raising her boys, along with swimming, cycling, snowboarding, and the occasional triathlon.
