MEET Dr. LaPorta
Dr. LaPorta has enjoyed holding ranked or affiliate faculty roles in physical therapist education for 27 years and she has been a manual physical therapist for 30 years, treating pelvic floor dysfunction in women and men since 1998. She holds board certifications from the APTA ABPTS in orthopedics and women’s health. As the President/Owner of PIPER (Providence Institute of Practice, Education and Research), she specializes in the treatment of spine, hip, pelvis, obstetric, gynecological, urogenital, and chronic pain issues in men and women, and mentors other practitioners in the treatment of these conditions. She speaks locally and nationally on women’s health and men’s health topics in communities, and at scientific meetings, has published in scientific journals, and is a principal investigator in clinical research on an ongoing basis.
Working at Regis University as an Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitative and Health Sciences and practicing in Littleton and Denver, Colorado she finds great joy teaming with others who share a common passion finding answers for patients with intimate health and persistent pain conditions and she seeks to take a comprehensive and holistic approach to addressing key aspects of each patient’s situation to help them find strategies to find relief, heal and return to activities they enjoy.
