MEET Dr. Banerjee
Dr. Monisha Banerjee, MD, is a Colon and Rectal Surgeon at the SurgOne Sky Ridge Medical Center Campus. She specializes in the diagnosis, care, and treatment of cancers in the colon and rectum, inflammatory bowel disease including, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, intestinal blockages, strictures, and pelvic floor dysfunction.
As one of only a few female colorectal surgeons in the region she is sought after for her expertise and care.

ARE YOU DUE FOR A COLONOSCOPY?
Screening colonoscopies are recommended for men and women every 10 years, starting at age 45 if they a have no risk factors for colon cancer. Colonoscopies are the most effective way to find colon and rectal cancer early. When found early, cancerous polyps can often be removed endoscopically.

Dr. Monisha Banerjee is a colorectal surgeon who completed her general surgery training as well as a research fellowship at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. She has completed two fellowships, one in minimally invasive surgery with a focus on robotics and transanal minimally invasive techniques and the other in colorectal surgery. She specialized in the treatment of general colorectal issues including cancers, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor dysfunction. Dr. Banerjee is a Denver native and received her medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is excited to be back practicing in her home state. She enjoys hiking, skiing, and spending time with her family and dog.
