MEET Shelby Uhernik
Shelby Uhernik is a seasoned healthcare executive with nearly 20 years in the industry. She attended college at the University of Kansas where she received a B.S. in Business and then continued her studies at Regis University in Denver where she graduated with a Master’s in Business Administration.
Shelby started her career in healthcare career in 2005, initially working for healthcare giants such as Johnson & Johnson and Gentiva. In 2011, she transitioned to a more local role and stepped into hospital administration at Porter Adventist Hospital, in Denver, where she eventually assumed the role of Vice-President of Business Development. From there she went to UCHealth where she was the Senior Director of Operations. Shelby played an integral role in opening UCHealth Highlands Ranch through her work in program development, physicians services physician contracting, Shelby is an accomplished business development professional and she brings a wealth of experience and expertise in physician relations, service line leadership, programmatic development, departmental operations, strategy, physician recruitment, and contracting.
Shelby joined SurgOne as the CEO in 2022 and she is dedicated to organizational leadership, operational efficiencies and providing the surgeons with the tools and support necessary to deliver exceptional patient care. Shelby’s favorite part of working at SurgOne is partnering directly with the providers and surgeons and supporting them in their mission. She is responsible for the strategic, financial, and operational aspects of the organization across more than twenty locations in the Denver metro area. She is proud to be a part of an organization where the average tenure of the surgeons stands at more than 10 years. That longevity means the team at SurgOne is experienced, loyal, and dedicated to excellence.
When Shelby is away from work, she enjoys attending Pilates classes and spending family time with her husband, son, daughter and the newest addition to the family, their puppy, Bailey.
